Vbulletin 3 in beta mod.

Hi All,

I have been over at vbulletin.org and read that version 3 is in beta mode. Does anyone know some of the new features? What about stability?

I like version 2 it seems that it couldnt really get much better. Maybe ver 3 has the best hacks(like quick reply) built in?

Are you going to upgrade to it for this site?

Personally, I find it hard to adjust to the new features in 3. With the cascading threads but i think that can be disabled.

Phil, my forums currently run vB2 and I have vB3 running locally on my PC. vB3 is soooo much better. There is a serious amount of new features in 3 and they are all excellent. I decided not to upgrade my forums until an RC of version 3 is released, but it's just so good I want to upgrade now. I'm trying my best not to go back on my decision ;)

Hehe, I hate that feeling, where you know you shouldn’t but you want to sooo bad :)

I might set it up on a test area. Is the upgrade from 2 possible/easy?

Providing you dont have any hacks installed that change the mysql tables it should be nice 'n' smooth. vB have even created a script that you can run to make sure the updaet should go smoothly before you even try. You can find it on their forums.

I did the upgrade on my local machine and found it extremely easy!
