Hi All,

Just a quick question. It seems like Photoshop is the only real professional tool to use, so I was wondering what app do you use to design your web pages?

I used to use the version of Photoshop I had when in work, but since I left that particular job I've gone back to using PSP 7. Personally I think it's just as good, except for the excellent ImageReady program that comes with Photoshop.

PSP is far far cheaper though, which is a big plus for it.

I've tried using PSP, but I've always found it so confusing. I started designing with PS, so it's always been much simpler for me to use, and the outcome with it is amazing.

The really important point is that all of the above mentioned programs, and some freeware (GIMP.. etc) all do the same things. MINOR differences. Those minor differences are not important for the artistic among us, but rather for those of us who AREN'T artistic. A real artist could use paint for EVERYTHING. That being said, and having used almost every program imaginable, I stick with paint for almost everything. If there is something that i want to do good/quick I try GIMP (which is free). Anyone ever heard of/used GIMP?

I use PS and PSP. I typically use PS when I want to create a large project or have some major clean up to do.

But if someone wants something quick and dirty like a basic logo idea, I will often use PSP.

I also use infraview to convert and open various graphic types, oh and AcdSee to browse pics!

I use Photoshop I think this is just the best image creator and editor if you know how to work with it. After using it like 3 years I still find new things that amaze me.

I use both PS7 and Fireworks MX. Fireworks is great for most things and if I need heavy detail then I switch to PS.

dk40k
12-05-2004, 02:42 AM
There probably are some out there that can generate small java scripts, or step by step easy making of java scripts. But normally everyone just makes it theirselves or find em.
