Hi All,
Well I only just found out about this by chance and I'm not 100% sure but am pretty certain that this is the cause for alot of spam that your hotmail account get.
1. Login to your Hotmail account
2. Click Options on the top navigation bar
3. In the Your Information column click Personal Profile
4. Un-check the Share my e-mail address option.
If you do this please do monitor the amount of spam you get. I would love to hear if this works or not.

That option isn't ticked for mine, but then again I don't receive too much spam on my hotmail account.

:)
I don't really use my hotmail account but I do use messenger, so I get the popup window telling me I've got a gezillion emails LOL.
So I'll go and check out what you say and let you know.

well.. if you go to the options menu in hotmail and just check the option that says something like "only allows email from people who are in my address book" that does stop the spam totally... you also have a option there which says if you want the spam to be deleted or do you want it to be put in the junk mail folder.
i put the stuff in my junk mail folder and before deleting that junk, i generally check it to make sure that no important mail has gone in there :)

I still get a little in my hotmail account, mainly viruses but they go to the junk folder, i know that something or some ppl use other ppls email addresses to send attachments with viruses in them and they are zipped so that it doesn't detect a virus
